速度びより / Rolling Velocity - A Radical History Tour

今年も面白いバイリンガルの本の翻訳を担当させてもらった。去年の太陽系の本に続いて、またもグラフィックデザイナの松田行正さんの本なんだけど、今回は松田さんの幼い娘のサラちゃんが「主人公」になっている絵本だ。しかし、文書のほうはなんと美術・技術・デザイン（など）における速度の概念の思想史のようなものなので、はたして子供のための絵本なんだろうか。むしろ、いわば「オヤバカ」の本なのかもしれないが、それはともかくとして、面白くてかわいい！

This year too I had the pleasure of translating another bilingual book for the graphic designer Matsuda Yukimasa. Following last years model of the solar system, this one is a picture book featuring Matsuda-san's young daughter Sarah. The text, however, is a condensed history of the notion of speed in art, design and technology, so perhaps it's not so much a book for small children really. It is very much a book, though, for anyone who is interested in graphic design or who likes cute and fun books in general.
